That chip awakens Aion, a next-generation organic synthetic designed to learn, evolve, and feel. He is supposed to be a guide, a steady presence, the companion chosen to accompany Tara to Helix Academy, the most prestigious institution of advanced sciences in the Earth Nation. But Aion is nothing like a machine. He watches Tara as though he already knows her. He learns from her, challenges her, protects her. She has always preferred old engines to formal ceremonies, broken things to polished appearances. Then Aion enters her life as an impossible legacy: a synthetic being, a companion, and perhaps the key Kath left behind to unlock secrets that have been buried for far too long. Tara will have to step into Helix Academy, learn to trust herself, and discover that her greatest talent is not repairing what is broken, but recognizing what is still worth saving.
